This literally makes no sense. Average Joe is at home watching 'Sports Center' on ESPN when the show breaks to a commercial for Cialis, an erectile dysfunction prescription medication, that can only be acquired via your doctor. The only people that should be aware of prescription medicine are your doctors who decide based on your symptoms that the particular medication is the best solution.
From the medication company's perspective, I am sure they are smart, and think if they put an erectile dysfunction medication ad on TV and Average Joe who just so happens to have trouble getting it up and sees this commercial, he will go to his doctor and say "I want a prescription for Cialis." Doctor then will confirm Joe's symptoms and then possibly give him that medication.
But if Joe randomly has a doctor's appointment, starts expressing symptoms, the doctor might not recommend this prescription or recommend a competitor.
Maybe Joe doesn't need the prescription because he is just overweight and losing some weight will help his functioning in that department.
Very sneaky those prescription medicine commercials are. Even though Average Joe cannot just go to the drugstore and purchase the medication off the shelf or over the counter or whatever that stupid phrase is that literally makes zero sense, he still has to go to his doctor to get the advertised product.
Lame. Prescription medications should NOT be advertised to everyday consumers; they should only be sent to or presented to doctor's offices to inform the doctors. That's it. But because even the medical industry is a business, it always comes down to money. More money, more power. Doesn't matter who it affects, just that the businesses make more money.
